Most Wanted Property Type
Top Keyword Searches
Unlike in other capital cities, prospective buyers in Adelaide place less importance on having a home with a “study”, as this term has dropped completely out of the top 20 search rankings. This may reflect the
relative affordability of homes in Adelaide, where extra space is readily available, or indicate a lesser focus on work-from-home trends in smaller cities.
Buying a new home is still extremely popular, with “new” retaining its place as the second most searched term. This shift reflects a preference for turnkey options over renovations.
Searches for “view” have risen one place to third, indicating strong
demand for homes with scenic outlooks. “Waterfront” jumped into the top 20 after not featuring last year, and with “beach” ranking eighth, it suggests an increased interest in
coastal living and lifestyle-driven purchases.
The search for lifestyle or more affordable pastures remains strong. A significant 46% of regional SA enquiries are coming from Adelaide residents, while only 5% of regional SA enquiries are looking to move to Adelaide.
While most home hunters across SA come from within the state (79%), some set their sights on NSW (5%), Victoria (6%) and Queensland (5%) for big-city living.
